HR Transition Manager

The role:

The HR Transition Manager’s (TM) role is to partner with the new account implementation teams to deliver the customized and innovative HR solutions aligned with each client’s business objectives, while optimizing cost efficiencies for both HPE and our client. The TM is also responsible for coordinating and reporting on all HR activities for ES accounts that are losing significant amounts of revenue and are in a Run Out (RO) situation, exiting all or a portion of the services currently performed by HPE ES. The TM will ensure compliance with the contractual terms and conditions during all phases of the HR implementation activities.


• Initiate RCOW Run Out – work with the account to establish an overall account plan, identify contractual requirements for the RO, develop the overall RO HR plan, and initialize the RO tracking of the “Plan for Every Person” tools.
• Review and Confirm Overall HR Exit Plan – in conjunction with the account, review the contractual exit plan provisions and develop an exit strategy that is most favorable to HPE’s financial liability for severance exposure and stranded cost due to timing; when possible, negotiate exit provisions with client so as to reduce HPE’s overall financial liability
• Identify Costs – exchange and review all relevant information regarding people-related costs being charged to the Account and regularly work with the account HR and workforce planning teams to ensure costs are being managed to deadlines.
• Create Action Plans – develop a detailed plan along with the supporting HR, GBU, AE, and/or transition experts to run out each in-scope cost.
• Implement Action Plans – ensure the execution of the Action Plans to run out each cost and mentor account teams on best practices, methods, and templates.
• Complete the Run Out – finalize the run out by verifying all contractual requirements have been met, employees have been transitioned, moved to open revenue generating positions, etc. Finally, ensuring the on-going or final status is tracked and monitored to ensure that costs are being run out according to the plan.
• Consult on Exit Provision Language – consult with Account teams on HR-related exit provision language or exit plans to ensure best practices are followed and contractual language supports HPE and its employees.


• Bachelor degree or equivalent professional qualification/ membership
• 1-2 years of HR experience in at least one or more HR specialties
• Experience with Employee Transitions, Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestures, Outsourcing desirable
• Proven Project Management experience
• International HR experience a plus
• Languages: Fluency in English; other languages a plus
• Able to travel approximately 10% of the time
• Strong Project Management skills and proved record of success managing global programs/project deliverables
• Business acumen and financial analysis skills that links HR solutions to business outcomes
• Ability to prioritize issues and manage escalations diplomatically
• Negotiations skills (able to defend HPE’s position on HR topics and assure HR risks/liabilities are properly covered in the contract)
• Read and interpret legal documents to determine HR solutions
• Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project tools
