The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (referred to as “the Award”) is the world’s leading youth achievement programme for personal development. The participants are competing with themselves, challenging their own beliefs about what they are capable of and how far they can go, by achieving their personal goals and developing skills and qualities that last for a lifetime.
Since its establishment in 1956, over 8 000 000 young people have undertaken voluntary and challenging activities by participating in the Award in more than 140 countries and territories. Today more than 1 000 000 young people in the whole world are achieving their goals by doing the Award.
THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S INTERNATIONAL AWARD – BULGARIA
Established in the beginning of 2014 the Foundation The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Bulgaria is the organization officially licensed to provide and coordinate the Award in Bulgaria. Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria is the official patron of the Award in Bulgaria.

Every young person in Bulgaria, aged 14-24 to have the opportunity to join, and potentially achieve the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
