UBB is seeking a talented and dynamic
Chief expert SAN, Backup and Storage infrastructure
Purpose of the Position:
To ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and development of
the organization’s SAN, backup and storage infrastructures. The
role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity
planning, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors
to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing SAN, storage and
archiving systems that support business continuity and data
integrity.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade storage and
backup solutions.
• Maintain and support SAN environments, including hardware,
firmware, and software patching.
• Ensure end-to-end lifecycle management of storage and backup
systems, including upgrades and capacity forecasting.
• Monitor system alerts and resolve complex incidents in production
environments.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and testing of disaster
recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Own documentation, service delivery, and compliance with internal
ITIL-aligned processes.
• Collaborate with the IT security team to apply and maintain best
security practices.
• Actively participate in technology evaluations, pilot testing,
and implementation of innovative solutions.
• Support infrastructure projects as the storage and archiving
stakeholder.
• Engage in cross-functional coordination to resolve incidents and
optimize performance.
Minimum Requirements:
Education
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
Informatics, Mathematics, or Economics.
Experience
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in managing backup, SAN,
and enterprise storage solutions.
• Strong familiarity with SAN networks, storage platforms, backup
infrastructure and data center hardware.
Technical Skills
• Experience with major vendor systems such as:
• DELL/EMC
• IBM
• HPE
• Solid understanding of backup software platforms, enterprise
archiving, and storage performance tuning.
• Experience with storage and backup capacity planning and system
integration.
• Knowledge and experience with both block and file level storage
systems
Other Competencies
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Effective communication and coordination skills across internal
teams and third-party vendors.
• Ability to work independently under pressure, as well as in a
team environment.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and
innovation.
