LEGAL COUNSEL
As member of LPP Bulgaria Legal Team, this position is an exciting
opportunity to join an international, dynamic legal department and
work with other members of the legal teams all over the world. The
successful Candidate will be a motivated and relationship-driven
problem-solver, and will provide clear, timely, and practical
counselling to the Company and LPP Capital Group on civil, business
and commercial law.
The ideal Candidate, as an experienced advisor in Bulgarian
jurisdiction, should provide legal counsel for the company in the
fields of inter alia corporate, compliance, civil and business law,
with a special emphasis on the commercial lease. Candidate shall be
responsible for the legal care of day-to-day Company’s operation,
including responsibility for looking after the best interests of
the Company. Legal Counsel of LPP Bulgaria should build a good
liaisons with other entities of LPP Capital Group and support
mother company in dealing with corporate issues.
The post of the legal counsel in LPP Bulgaria requires wide
knowledge and experience in the field of commercial lease
agreements. Due to worldwide expansion, successful Candidate will
be responsible for the commercial lease Bulgarian market, i.e. the
scope of duties shall include whole process of investment in the
new stores at Bulgarian commercial lease market, negotiations,
conclusion and supervision over the performance of the lease
agreements, as well as assistance on everyday matters on labour,
compliance and costumer protection matters.
Responsibilities:
✅ Legal support in the drafting, negotiations and
supervision over the performance of the commercial lease agreements
regarding the Company’s stores; experience in this field shall be
considered as an advantage – negotiations between the landlords and
the tenants, liaisons with the shopping centre managers, legal
support in the construction and fitting out of the stores process,
participation in the disputes
✅ Handling multiple lease projects or different legal
matters and deadlines simultaneously with careful legal analysis
and attention to detail
✅ Designs and drafts contracts or other legal acts
concluded by the company (statements, powers of attorney,
constituent acts, internal decisions, addresses, notifications,
other legal communications, etc.) with other individuals, and
maintains contact with public authorities and institutions
✅ Provision legal advice and counsel to management and
company personnel on various other matters facing the Company,
including commercial matters, commercial lease matters, among
others
✅ Management, assessment, and supervision over outside
legal counsel
✅ Working with internal legal and business colleagues to
address various legal and corporate initiatives
✅ Preparation of legal opinions / views on the legal
aspects regarding the Company's activity
✅ Preparation legal responses to addresses and complaints
registered at the LPP
✅ Drafting, analyzing and legalizing commercial contracts
according to the internal procedures of the departments concerned
and in accordance with the legislation in force
✅ Verification and approval of the legality of contracts,
conventions, agreements, protocols, concluded by the company
✅ Management the relationship with the contract
partners
✅ Revision of any type of existing company contract as
needed, in accordance with the contracting process and in
compliance with the legal provisions. Participate in contract
negotiation
✅ Following the running of the contracts in which the
company is a party, monitoring compliance with the obligations of
the parties (including tracking the billing / collection process
for the rental / sub-lease agreements and the on-time payment of
the related bills), reporting to the management any reported
problems that could impact the activity company
✅ Keeping up to date with the most recent changes in
legislation and informs the company departments
Qualifications:
✅ legal master’s degree with proficiency in civil,
business and tax law
✅ experience with lease agreements for shopping
centres/retail shall be counted as an advantage
✅ experience in in-house and/or legal firm in respective
fields minimum 2 years, as experience in international
company/clients shall be considered as an advantage
✅ experience in labour law and costumer protection
complaints
✅ excellent communication skills, both oral and written,
required
✅ knowledge of legal practices, concrete experience in
drafting documents
✅ knowledge of general corporate transactional law
required
✅ knowledge of contract development
✅ good ability to negotiate, prioritize and organize
✅ ability to work with deadlines
✅ ability to communicate with authorities
✅ organizational integrity and professional ethics
✅ fluent English Language Skills, including advanced
skills in legal and business English
✅ advanced PC operating knowledge (MS Office)
