As a Senior SCOM DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with
development and operations teams to optimize and maintain multiple
Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) environments to
ensure a reliable and efficient monitoring. You will implement
automation, enhance monitoring, and leverage PowerShell scripting
to improve system performance, reliability, and operational
efficiency.
Your daily routine would include:
Perform server administrative activities such as installations,
deployments, configurations, upgrades, security patching &
maintenance on PROD and non-PROD environments, as well as
integrations and disintegrations of monitoring agents;
Troubleshoot and resolve reported monitoring problems on any of the
supported environments and/or services using our ticketing system
ServiceNow;
Monitor systems/services health, including diagnosis and root cause
analysis with SCOM, analyze logs, handle errors & finds
resolution within the specified SLAs;
Plan and coordinate changes, upgrades and new services, ensuring
systems will operate correctly;
Develop scripts to automate routine operational tasks (e.g. system
checks, git hook for various scripts on multiple environments);
Plan and strategize new complex monitoring solutions with customers
& service managers;
We’ll know you can make it if you have:
3+ years of Enterprise experience maintaining, supporting, and
deploying Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
environments in production and non-production systems or equivalent
monitoring system;
3+ years of Enterprise experience as a Windows system
administrator;
Experience with Microsoft automation technologies and system
management tools such as SCCM, MECM;
Experience in provisioning, operating, and maintaining Windows
servers (both virtual and physical), including OS deployment, patch
management, and antivirus solutions;
Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation, report
generation, and system monitoring enhancements;
Experience with SQL designing, developing, and maintaining SQL
databases, including creating and modifying schemas, tables, views,
indexes, and stored procedures, as well as using well-written SQL
queries for potential troubleshooting;
Ability to identify and resolve faults, document processes
thoroughly, and continuously improve system operations;
Experience with working with Kanban and Scrum-oriented
environments;
University degree in IT, Telecommunications, or a related field or
at least 3+ years of equivalent work experience;
Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with container technologies such as Docker,
Kubernetes;
Experience with web development using Python, Django, etc;
Experience with SSL Certificates handling;
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure;
Agile processing of the operational backlog in the technological
environment of MS AD, SCCM, SCVMM, SCOM, Hyper-V, VMware;
Certifications relevant to SCOM, Windows Server, or other system
management tools (e.g., SCOM, MECM);
Expertise with infrastructure components like Active Directory,
DNS, and PKI;
Experience in On-Call-Duty (OCD).
Not necessary, but big nice-to-have is if you are able to
communicate in German.
