We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior IT Business Analyst to join our Payments IT Delivery team.
In this role, you will take ownership of business analysis across end-to-end payment processes, connecting business needs with technology solutions and producing high-quality requirements and functional specifications, with a strong focus on system interactions and integration dependencies.
What You’ll Do
- Lead E2E business analysis for payment related initiatives, covering business processes, system interactions and integration dependencies.
- Independently gather, challenge, analyse and translate business needs into clear, complete and actionable business requirements, functional specifications, use cases and acceptance criteria.
- Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in payment processing, assess the business and system impacts of proposed changes, and highlight associated risks.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, architects and external vendors to evaluate solution options, clarify requirements and ensure alignment on expected outcomes.
- Proactively drive analysis activities, facilitate discussions, resolve ambiguities and maintain clear visibility of progress, outstanding issues and deliverables.
- Contribute throughout the delivery lifecycle, including solution assessment, testing, UAT, implementation and post implementation analysis.
- Share expertise, support colleagues and contribute to improving analysis practices, documentation quality and knowledge within the team.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience in IT business analysis or a comparable role, with substantial experience in banking or financial services, including practical experience in payment processing.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end payment processes, including payment initiation, validation, processing, settlement, transaction statuses and exception handling.
- Proven ability to independently deliver high-quality business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, use cases and acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and the ability to identify gaps, challenge assumptions and assess business and system impacts.
- Good understanding of Core Banking, payment processing systems and application integrations, with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
- A proactive, self-driven approach, strong sense of ownership and ability to manage priorities, dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to facilitate discussions and explain complex topics clearly.
- Good command of English.
Advantages

- Knowledge of European and international payment schemes and infrastructures, such as SEPA SCT/INST, TARGET/TIPS and SWIFT.
- Familiarity with ISO 20022, payment messaging standards, APIs or other integration technologies.
- Understanding of payment related regulatory requirements, operational controls, reconciliation, fraud prevention or transaction monitoring.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid IT delivery environments, including tools such as Jira and Confluence.
