General duties

  • Develop and maintain the bank's enterprise architecture strategy, principles, standards, and technology roadmaps.
  • Translate business objectives into technology capabilities across core banking, digital channels, payments, data, integration, risk, and regulatory platforms.
  • Lead architecture governance and ensure alignment across solution, data, application, infrastructure, cloud, and security architecture domains.
  • Describe, analyze and assess current-state architecture and define target-state architecture for modernization, transformation, and regulatory initiatives.
  • Support major information technology programs, including core banking transformation, cloud adoption, API integration, data platforms, enterprise integration, and digital banking services.
  • Develop, maintain, and govern enterprise architecture documentation, including architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, target-state architectures, technology roadmaps, architecture decision records (ADRs), and architecture repository artifacts.
  • Ensure architecture documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with governance, regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk and network teams to embed security, resilience, privacy, and compliance requirements into architectural designs.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and advise on their suitability within the banking environment.
  • Guide technology investment decisions and support business cases through architecture impact assessments.
  • Ensure solutions comply with internal policies, banking regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor solution architects and technical teams while promoting a strong architecture culture across the organization.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in enterprise, solution, software, cloud, or technology architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of banking platforms, digital banking, payments, risk systems, data architecture, and integration patterns.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure), containerization and Kubernetes platforms (including Red Hat OpenShift), relational and NoSQL databases, cybersecurity, data governance, APIs, microservices, enterprise integration, and Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP), including event-driven architecture, messaging, service orchestration, asynchronous integration, container orchestration, and hybrid integration architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Proven experience creating, maintaining, and governing enterprise architecture and technical documentation, including architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, roadmaps, architecture diagrams, decision records (ADRs), and technology standards using architecture modelling and documentation tools.
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate technical documentation for both technical teams and executive stakeholders, ensuring architecture artifacts remain current throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate complex technology concepts clearly to executive and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • , financial services, fintech, or another highly regulated industry.
  • TOGAF, BIAN, or cloud architect certifications.
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory requirements, including operational resilience, data protection, cybersecurity, outsourcing/vendor risk, and business continuity.
  • Experience with architecture modelling tools and enterprise architecture repositories (e.g., Sparx Enterprise Architect, LeanIX, Bizzdesign, MEGA, Archi, or similar).
