On behalf of our client, a well-established company in the Energy
sector, we are seeking an experienced Forecasting and Balancing
Specialist to support energy trading, balancing group coordination,
and demand-supply forecasting. This role plays a vital part in
ensuring accurate energy consumption and production forecasts,
optimizing grid stability, and enhancing operational
efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Energy Forecasting & Analysis: Develop, analyze, and
refine short-term and long-term electricity consumption and
production forecasts using historical data, market trends, and
meteorological factors;
• Data Visualization & Reporting: Create insightful charts,
dashboards, and reports to support decision-making for internal and
external stakeholders;
• Balancing Group Coordination: Assist in managing energy
balancing groups, ensuring accurate forecasting for market
participation and risk mitigation;
• Market Data Interpretation: Monitor and analyze electricity
market trends, regulatory changes, and pricing patterns to improve
forecasting accuracy;
• Optimization & Process Improvement: Identify
inefficiencies in forecasting models and propose enhancements to
improve accuracy and efficiency;
• Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with traders, analysts,
and operations teams to integrate forecasts into energy trading
strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
• University degree in Energy Management, Statistics, Data
Science, Economics, or a related field;
• Previous experience in energy forecasting, data analysis, or
market operations within the electricity or energy sector;
• Proficiency in data analysis tools;
• Strong skills in data visualization tools;
• Understanding of electricity markets, trading, and balancing
mechanisms is a plus;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work
collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
• Fluency in English.
