General duties
- Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Bank's accounting methodology and accounting control framework.
- Define accounting and business requirements for the core banking system and related applications supporting automated accounting processes.
- Design, implement, and maintain accounting setups, schemes, and parameters for new and existing banking products and services.
- Participate in strategic projects, system implementations, and user acceptance testing to ensure compliance with IFRS, local regulations, and the Bank's accounting policies.
- Review and validate accounting treatment and reporting outcomes for new initiatives and business developments.
- Provide expert methodological guidance and support to Head Office units and the branch network on accounting-related matters.
- Develop, update, and implement accounting policies, procedures, internal regulations, and other governance documents.
- Monitor regulatory and accounting developments and ensure their timely implementation within the Bank.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting within the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and IAS.
- Solid understanding of Bulgarian banking regulations and tax legislation.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or CFA will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong understanding of accounting systems, processes, and related technologies.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
