Job Description

Sensata Technologies is looking for a Material planning specialist who will be responsible for the development and assessment of demand forecasts on designated product/program categories. In this role you will work with multiple internal departments as well as external vendors on various analyses and statistics to ensure uninterrupted production operations by balancing supply to demand through effective forecasting, inventory management and supplier coordination.

General Responsibilities
Key participant in the maintenance of updated purchase records
Collaborates on making purchases of urgent materials and/or transportation service for materials or products inside the city or to other locations
Key participant in the tracking and recording of functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Collaborates interviews of sales representatives and researches companies to develop new sources of supplies and secure favorable terms for the company

Experience / Qualifications
A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

General Responsibilities

  • Participate in defining and executing an integrated supply chain to support operational excellence and continuous improvement in line with company performance standards and values;
  • Analyze ERP material requirement signal to plan and execute optimal delivery schedules based on production needs and demand forecast;
  • Effectively communicate with suppliers to define, manage and maintain purchase orders, delivery schedules, promise dates, lead times, order frequency, minimum order qty and safety stock;
  • Monitor stock levels and manage re-order points to prevent stock-outs or overstocking; suggest and carry out working capital improvement initiatives in compliance with existing inventory models;
  • Identify, escalate and mitigate potential supply risks by implementing and executing supply recovery plans;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production Planning, Procurement, Quality, Engineering and Warehouse teams to ensure efficient operations and undisrupted delivery performance;
  • Track and improve company KPIs such as inventory turnover, delinquency, on-time delivery, freight cost, order confirmation, production downtime, etc.;
  • Perform in-depth analysis and run various statistics and reports to support future predictability of demand planning;

Experience / Qualifications

  • University degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Procurement or another relevant field of science;
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role or equivalently relevant work experience;
  • Fluent in English; Second foreign language is an advantage;
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills;
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical and time-management skills;
  • Must be a team player, willing to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple competing tasks;
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving and risk management, resilience and flexibility;
  • Demonstrated accountability in achieving goals, performance standards, and operational results;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of supply chain basics & inventory management principles;
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively across all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
