Job Overview
We are looking for an Observability Engineer to join our Grafana-focused team. You will develop, maintain, and enhance our observability stack, including dashboards, queries, and custom Grafana applications. By providing engineering and operations teams with actionable insights, you will help ensure the reliability, visibility, and stability of services across the A1 Telekom Group.

This job can be performed by all countries within our A1 footprint.
Role insights:

  • Build and maintain Grafana-based observability dashboards and tools for a large-scale telecom environment.
  • Work with a modern open-source stack: Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Tempo, OpenTelemetry.
  • Write and optimize PromQL queries for monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop Grafana applications/plugins using TypeScript (and some Go).
  • Support incident response and root cause analysis with reliable observability data.
  • Work in a Kubernetes + GitOps (Argo CD) environment.
  • Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to improve system visibility and reliability.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the observability platform (including migration to Mimir).

What Makes You Unique:

  • Experience with Grafana dashboards in production.
  • Strong knowledge of observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Mimir, Loki, Tempo).
  • Good PromQL skills.
  • Experience with Go or TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and GitOps (Argo CD).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and team collaboration mindset.
