Role Insights:
- Design, build, and maintain Grafana dashboards that surface meaningful insights from metrics, logs, and traces.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot PromQL queries to support alerting, dashboards, and ad-hoc analysis.
- Develop and extend custom Grafana applications and plugins using TypeScript.
- Contribute to the evolution of the observability stack.
- Design and build our synthetic monitoring platform using Playwright and k6 - browser and API checks, probe placement across network zones, and integration of results into the Grafana stack.
- Operate and improve OpenTelemetry-based pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces.
- Manage deployments through GitOps workflows using Argo CD
- Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and application teams to define observability requirements and translate them into reliable dashboards and queries.
- Support incident response and root-cause analysis by providing the right data at the right time.
- Document dashboards, query patterns, and application components so they can be maintained and extended by the wider team.
What Makes You Unique:
- Solid hands-on software development experience in at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, Go or Python - building and maintaining real applications or services, not only scripts.
- Practical experience with observability or monitoring tooling, ideally the Grafana stack (dashboards, queries, alerting).
- Ability to use AI coding assistants effectively while critically reviewing and validating the generated code.
- Strong motivation to learn and improve, both individually and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers from other domains.
