Senior Backend Software Engineer

Do you want to know how our backend systems can scale to hundreds of gameplays per second? You'll be working with a stellar team of engineers to ensure our players continue to enjoy our world-class Gaming product. We are seeking talented individuals to help us expand our product to new horizons. You will carry projects from initial requirements, and implementation up to production. You should expect an agile and modern environment where you will work with the latest technologies and industry best practices.

Responsibilities
• Design and implement distributed micro-services in Java
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design secure, stable, and robust architecture
• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy new services and middleware
• Write highly scalable, high volume services
• Create optimized database schemas and access paths
• Application debugging, profiling, performance tuning, and stress-testing
• Work closely with the DevOps team to continuously optimize and improve production infrastructure
• Ensure all systems have suitable coverage with tests, metrics, and alarms

Requirements
• At least 2 years of experience in software engineering
• Experience using a Linux server environment
• Ability to independently debug and analyze problems
• Assume technical responsibility of complex backend systems, identify opportunities for improvements
• Lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and ensure best practices are adhered to
• Be familiar with deployment using Docker
• Be knowledgeable about distributed systems and technologies (Kafka, NoSQL, SQL, Redis, ...)
• Experience working with Kubernetes
• Experience engineering for any of the public cloud platforms (AWS, Google, and/or Microsoft)
• Be passionate about secure, reliable, and fast software
