The Senior Director, Global Procurement - Automotive will lead a
global team of sourcing & procurement managers and
professionals to drive excellence in procurement strategy, cost
optimization, and supplier innovation. This position demands a high
level of engagement with Sensata’s key suppliers and executive
leadership team. The Senior Director will be instrumental in
influencing strategic decisions and aligning sourcing initiatives
with broader business goals. The position will collaborate
cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and supply chain
teams to ensure continuity of supply, protect revenue, and navigate
global regulatory and tariff challenges.
General Responsibilities
Directs cross company collaborations to promote the lowest total
cost of ownership sourcing solutions/value proposition.
Building successful relationships internally and externally in
order to execute strategy plans and identifying key areas of
improvement within the organization.
Focus on mitigating supply risks and enabling growth.
Ownership of supplier selection and sourcing decisions, in
collaboration with category strategy team.
Manage all VA/VE and cost optimization activities.
Sourcing for suppliers when new business opportunities are won by
the BU.
Being able to execute and revamp delivery, quality and cost
issues.
Carry full Procurement P&L responsibility for the Business Unit
(Automotive).
Responsible for managers securing commercial terms with the
suppliers in line with company policies and compliance needs.
Directs the collaboration with functional areas to agree and secure
sourcing suppliers, sourcing recommendations, supplier pool,
selection criteria and event outcome criteria for Automotive
BU.
Directs the continuous development of the Sourcing and Procurement
function towards the best practices in procurement and
development.
Advises and strongly influences on the delivering of corporate
aligned procurement objectives supporting total company strategic
vision.
Directs and influences implementing communication strategies to
ensure accurate and timely flow of information to upper management,
business partners, and suppliers.
Directs cross functional teams in supplier risk assessments, risk
management and disaster recovery planning.
Support and represent Global Procurement in Business Unit (BU)
meetings.
Develops negotiation strategies and directs managers in
negotiations and projects for cost reduction initiatives for the
Automotive BU.
Directs activities as required cross-functionally, including
Planning, Engineering, Quality, Programs, Finance, Legal and
Manufacturing concerning protection of supply chain.
Be the key contact point of the Categories supplier’s leadership
team in order to protect supply.
Develops performance metrics and drives initiatives to ensure goals
are met and on-schedule.
Experience / Qualifications
A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent
relevant work experience.
Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
