The Senior Quality Director of the Business Segment “Automotive and Aftermarket” is responsible and accountable for the overall management, direction and coordination of the Quality activities and results for the Business Segment “Automotive and Aftermarket”.
This individual will report directly to the VP Global Quality and will lead all aspects of the Business Segment “Automotive and Aftermarket” quality activities in the regions and product lines in close collaboration with all stakeholders in the Business segment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall leadership and execution of the quality assurance and quality control strategy, improvement programs and policies across all Business segment “Automotive & AFM” Development Centers and Manufacturing sites.
  • As a member of the company’s Quality Leadership Team, lead the development, articulation, implementation, and continuous improvement of Business segment “Automotive & AFM” Quality projects, policies and compliance programs.
  • Acts as a champion for building a “culture of quality” across the Business segment “Automotive & AFM”
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement of quality procedures and compliance projects at all sites and to simplify and harmonize the quality approach across the Business segment “Automotive & AFM”. 
  • implement, and communicate a clear quality vision for quality in the Business segment “Automotive & AFM” to maximize employee alignment, engagement, and performance.
  • Maintain a strong independent role as it relates to Product Safety and Compliance related decisions.
  • Ensure all Business segment “Automotive & AFM” sites are in full compliance with regulatory requirements and are aligned with Corporate Quality policies and programs.
  • Ensure that all QA responsibilities including training, internal audits, investigations, complaints, change control, document control, incoming inspection and manufacturing/lab oversight, are implemented and maintained across all manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure that site-specific quality systems and quality requirements for new product launch and investigations are established and followed at the Site level.
  • Manage the Business segment “Automotive & AFM” quality budgets to insure we are delivering quality activities in line with the committed quality budget and annual plan
  • Ensure the organization is continuously complying to the Sensata’s Quality Management System in line with customer and Industry quality systems requirements (ISO9001 and  IATF16949) as applicable.
  • Develop his/her direct reports to take on increased responsibility, improve performance and work more autonomously to contribute to the functional talent pipeline
  • Lead customer and supplier quality related issues and escalations within the region
  • Provide leadership and direction to suppliers to ensure compliance to Sensata’s Global Quality Supplier Manual
  • Act as the primary Quality Leader interface between the Business segment “Automotive & AFM” Customer senior level representatives and Sensata Leadership, operational plants and business centers
  • Provide expert support to regions and plants in the management of series production quality and warranty related activities, including concern resolution and continuous improvement efforts, with the global customer’s local manufacturing facilities
  • Work on any other tasks and requests arising from company’s business needs and communicated by Business Segment Leader and/or the direct superior – the VP Global Quality

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in a Manufacturing/Technology Quality business.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a senior quality management function in a global organization.
  • Exposure to a variety of quality roles (operations, BU, supplier quality , warranty) and processes and direct experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial, as is exposure to supply chain management.
  • Expert problems solving skills (RED X Shainin, Kepner Trego, 6 six black belt).
  • Ability to motivate and energize the team for quality improvement through strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to make tough decisions to enhance organizational skills
  • Shows insight and good judgment in assessing complex or uncertain alternatives, including the risks of each. Before making decisions, considers the impact on other parts of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization.
  • Has the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments
  • Demonstrate a track record of driving continuous quality improvements (examples reduce PPM, customer events, cost of quality, etc.) in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Understands Quality System requirements such as IATF 16949, AS 9000, ISO 9000 and has proficiency with APQP tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, etc.
  • Has functional knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and associated root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why analysis, A3, PCDA, fishbone diagrams, is/is-not analysis, etc.
  • Able to communicate technical information effectively both in writing and verbally to all levels in the organization
  • Maintains composure in challenging situations and provides the team with strong leadership
  • Willing to travel approximately 25% - 50% of the time to meet with customers, suppliers and teams in remote locations as needed

Gross Annual Salary Range:

70,517.00 EUR - 96,961.70 EUR

The salary range is published in line with the EU Pay Transparency Directive and relevant country legislation.

The starting salary offered will be based on objective, gender-neutral criteria , (e.g internal equivalency, relevant skills, experience, qualifications etc.). Applicants will not be asked for salary history.
