The Role:

The role of the Software Development Manager will be responsible for the management of software development teams within the Apex and report to the Head of Application Services.

The successful candidate will include responsibilities such as technical design, governance, software development and management of software development team. It will be a leadership role with the IT Applications Services Team and include managing and governing both internal developers and vendors.

Previous people/vendor management experience, be a team player, possesses a solutions-oriented approach and high work ethics with excellent communication and process management skills are required for this role.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for the operations of a software development team.
Review software development policies and procedures, roll out updates to the development team and govern these ensuring they are being adhered to.
Experienced in leading technical teams, including frontend and backend developers.
Work with the team to ensure the projects are correctly evaluated and scoped from both a technical and commercial stand point.
Work with the project managers, business analysts and other key individuals to ensure that all projects are appropriately supported and fully completed on time
Ensure proper software development life cycle is deployed
Facilitate technology and methodology decision making, developing reusable code base development, source code control and management and deployment processes
Vendor management.
Manages and provides guidance and mentorship to team members.
Manages, motivates, organizes, and controls the staff and contractors.

Изисквания и необходими умения

Experience and skills:

3+ years’ experience management of software development team(s).
Knowledge of JIRA, Agile, DevOps methodologies.
Previous people management experience.
3rd Level IT Qualification.
Nice to have:

Experience with Azure Cloud.
Technical knowledge of .NET, C#, T-SQL, API.
Excellent time management and decision making skills.
Excellent communication skills in both English written and verbal.
Background in the financial Industry preferable.
