experienced and motivated professional for the position of
Head of Development / Application Development Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Software Development Management:
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software
applications.
• Ensure development projects are completed on time, within budget,
and meet business requirements.
Technology Strategy and Planning:
• Develop and execute application development strategies that align
with the organization’s business objectives.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to support
innovation.
Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead, mentor, and develop the applications development team to
achieve high performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to team
members.
Project Management:
• Manage development projects from initiation to completion,
ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful
project implementation.
Quality Assurance and Performance:
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the
performance and reliability of applications.
• Conduct code reviews and testing to identify and address issues
early in the development process.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with product managers, Architects, business
analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and define
project scope.
• Communicate development progress and updates to senior management
and stakeholders.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within
the development team.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement
best practices.
Budget Management:
• Develop and manage the applications development budget, ensuring
efficient allocation of resources.
• Monitor and control development-related expenditures to stay
within budget.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of professional experience in a similar position
• 3+ years of experience as a Senior Software Developer
• Strong technical and people management experience
• A strong understanding of the full life cycle of software
development gained from previous employment in a software
development environment or major software implementation
project
• Knowledge and understanding of
o Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, C#, .Net and Web APIs)
o Oracle, Web and Database Open Source technologies,
o Microservices architecture
• Some experience in an agile development methodology such as
Scrum
• Thorough knowledge and practical experience in task and project
management;
• Knowledge and experience of implementing standards and quality
assurance in delivering software solutions
• A proven track record of experience in systems analysis,
relational database design, software design and the development of
Oracle and Microsoft systems
• Proven ability to think and plan strategically to have a clear
and full perspective,
• The ability to plan, prioritise and manage resources
pragmatically across a complex portfolio of programmes and projects
to meet agreed deadlines
• The ability to maintain and develop good technical knowledge of
ICT innovations and strategic technical direction
• A ‘Can do/Make it happen’ attitude, taking ownership of issues
and offering and implementing steps to resolve them
• Excellent in English language
