Job Overview
We are looking for a hands-on operations professional to run and improve our hybrid data platforms: Cloudera on?premise, Microsoft Azure as our public cloud, and Exoscale as our private cloud. You will monitor and support day?to?day operations, communicate with stakeholders, meet SLAs for incidents and requests, and contribute to future migrations and upgrades.
This job can be performed by all countries within our A1 footprint.
Role Insights:
- Operate and support on-premises Cloudera clusters and related data services.
- Manage and maintain workloads and services in Azure, as well as Exoscale resources in the private cloud.
- Monitor platform health, capacity, and performance; proactively detect and resolve issues.
- Handle incidents, service requests, and changes in alignment with agreed SLAs.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders by providing timely status updates and post-incident reviews.
- Perform routine operational tasks, including access management, job scheduling, backups, patching, and upgrades.
- Maintain runbooks, documentation, and dashboards to ensure reliable operations.
- Contribute to automation efforts for repeatable tasks and deployments.
- Support the planning and execution of platform migrations and upgrades.
- Ensure security, compliance, and cost governance across all environments.
- Participate in on-call rotation when required.
What Makes You Unique:
- Experience in platform operations, SRE, or DevOps.
- Practical knowledge of Cloudera (CDP/CDH) and the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive, Impala basics).
- Solid understanding of operating services on Azure (VMs, storage, networking, monitoring).
- Strong Linux skills, with expertise in troubleshooting and shell scripting (Bash); Python knowledge is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Cloudera Manager, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
- Background in incident and problem management; familiarity with ITIL is a plus.
- Clear and proactive communication skills in English.
Nice to have:
- Experience with automation and IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and practices.
