- Opportunities to learn and build your career.
- Meaningful work in a stable and fast-paced company.
- Diversity of people, projects, and platforms.
- A supportive, fun, and inspiring place to work.
This job can be performed from all countries within our A1 footprint.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Junior Observability Engineer to join our team, focusing on monitoring the performance and reliability of networks and services used by A1 Group and our business customers.
You'll start close to monitoring and incidents, learning how to identify issues, understand what's happening, and ensure they reach the right people. Over time, you'll grow into the engineering side of observability — working with data pipelines, platforms, and automation at enterprise scale.
We're looking for someone curious, eager to learn, and motivated to build a long-term career with us.
Role insights:
- Learn and grow across networking, Linux, monitoring, data pipelines, containers, and development.
- Work with modern technologies including the Grafana observability stack, OpenTelemetry, Kubernetes, and other cloud-native tools.
- Gain hands-on experience with real traffic, complex environments, and large-scale infrastructure.
- Investigate incidents, identify issues, and work with the right teams to drive them toward resolution.
- Contribute to monitoring and log pipelines, automation, scripts, and tools that make operations more reliable.
- Work alongside experienced engineers and explore different technologies as you develop your own area of expertise.
What makes you unique:
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and core protocols such as TCP, UDP, and SNMP.
- Comfortable working with Linux.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine motivation to learn and grow.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with different technical teams.
- English at a working level (B1), both written and spoken.
Nice to Have:
- Scripting or development experience with Python, Bash, Go, TypeScript, or similar.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and the ELK stack.
- Interest in Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and modern observability technologies.
- Familiarity with GitOps or tools such as Argo CD.
- Experience with large-scale or telecom infrastructure.
- German is a plus, but not required.
