Plant Buyer

 
Responsibilities:

o The plant buyer is the link between the production site and the "global commodity managers" (GCM) in Toulouse, France. He/she represents the procurement function on site, and advocate for the site in procurement meetings.
o His/her main responsibility is to ensure correct execution of the contract by the supplier and by the supply-chain team, for production to receive on-time and on-quality products.
o To that aim, the plant buyer has great autonomy to meet the following expectations:
• Be the first point of escalation of logistics in the event of a blocking point in the factory (supply, material, service) and carry out corrective purchasing actions.
• Participate in weekly meetings with Quality & Procurement leaders to report on points impacting production and ongoing purchasing actions.
• Ensure that all the products necessary for production are referenced/contracted with the suppliers of the panel.
• Ensure that logistics and quality incidents are reported, lead the collection of overcost justification for potential claims, officially notify claims to the supplier, organize and conduct the negotiation of claims with the supplier and the associated internal team.
• Work in close collaboration with the GCM on the topics of Quality, Cost, Deadlines and to implement the purchasing strategy roadmap.
• Carry out short-term subcontracting contracts in the event of default of referenced suppliers.
• Carry out long-term and site-specific subcontracts that would not be covered in headquarter.
• Ensure the sourcing of suppliers that meet our customers' standards.
• Support the supplier quality specialist and carry out actions with the supplier if necessary.
• Work in collaboration with program buyers on new projects whose manufacturing will be carried out within his/her scope.
• Support ramp-up or decrease in production.
• Support any request for changes to products and manage end-of-life.
• Participate in the construction of the purchasing budget and the 5-year plan for his/her scope. Monitor the proper execution of the budget and plan.
 
Requirements:
o Ability to conduct negotiations with suppliers.
o Knowledge of the industrial environment.
o QHSE Orientation. o Academic background in mechanical or business (Bachelor or above). o A minimum of 5 years’ experience in industry.
o Minimum B2 Level in English.
o Knowing French will be considered as an advantage. o Excellent knowledge of SAP.
o Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, especially Excel.
o Self-disciplined and able to carry out detailed work with minimum supervision;
o Excellent communication skills;
o Able to establish relationships based on trust, confidentiality, and integrity;
o Proactive problem solver;
o A dynamic performer;
o Willing to learn;
o Hands-on, diligent and fast and effective troubleshooting.
