General duties
- Learn the real-time core
• Help build and test Python pipelines that read events from Kafka and apply campaign rules such as customer eligibility, reward caps and frequency limits.
• Work with the progress store and points ledger in PostgreSQL: write queries, check data and help prepare changes.
• Learn how to make rewards correct by design: idempotent processing, traceability back to the transaction, and handling of reversals and refunds.
- Help keep the numbers right
• Support reconciliation checks against our golden source, the transaction tables in DWH / Databricks.
• Build and maintain dbt models and Airflow jobs for daily eligibility, aggregates and history under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Help monitor pipelines for latency, errors and lost events, and take part in investigating incidents. - Support campaign launches
• Help turn new campaigns into configuration and extend the library of reward mechanics - capped cashback, monthly challenges, boosted partner cashback.
• Help connect new data sources and keep the engagement and reward catalogs up to date. - Support the business
• Prepare datasets for Power BI reports on campaign performance, complaints and partner invoicing.
• Write tests and documentation for the pipelines and configurations you work on.
• Share ideas - in a new team, good suggestions from interns are welcome.
